Bananamatic is designed to know as little as possible about you. This page explains what happens when you use the site.

In short

Data controller

Nicolas Le Berre, publisher of the site (full details in the legal notice). For any question: contact@bananamatic.com.

What stays on your device

So that you don’t have to start over on every visit, the site keeps a little information in your browser’s memory (“local storage”):

When you choose a language, the site also sets a cookie, lang, to serve you the same language next time (it lasts one year).

This information never leaves your device and we have no access to it. It is only used to make the tools work, so it does not require your consent. To delete it: use the buttons in the tools (“Clear” under the wheel, for example), or clear the site’s data in your browser settings.

When you share a wheel, its list is written into the link, after the # sign. Browsers never send that part to the server, but anyone who receives the link can see the list.

If you turn on timer notifications, your browser asks for your permission first. Notifications are produced by your device: nothing goes through our server.

What our server receives

As with any website, your browser sends technical information to the server with every page: IP address, requested page, date and time, browser type, the page you came from.

These logs are necessary for the site to work and stay secure (the publisher’s legitimate interest). They are used for nothing else and shared with no one.

The timers and countdowns ask the server for the exact time; this request contains no information about you.

Advertising

The site is free thanks to advertising, provided by Google (AdSense). Google and its partners may use cookies or identifiers to show ads, measure their performance, fight fraud and, with your consent, tailor them to your interests.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message (Google’s platform, certified under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework) asks for your choice before any non-essential advertising cookie. Refusing is as easy as accepting; if you refuse, limited, non-personalised ads may still be shown. You can change your mind at any time, from the link provided for this purpose at the bottom of every page.

Google is responsible for its own processing. To learn more: how Google uses information from sites that use its services and My Ad Center.

Your rights

The GDPR gives you the right to access, rectify, erase, object to and restrict the processing of your data. Since we keep nothing that could identify you (apart from the error log, deleted after 14 days), we will usually be unable to find any data about you; please write to contact@bananamatic.com all the same, and we will reply. For advertising data, you can also contact Google directly.

You can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr), or with the authority of your country.

Changes
